What changes from one town to the next
The system a property needs is decided by the property, not the postcode. But the housing stock genuinely does change across Kent, and it changes the job. This is what we find in each area.
Aylesford
Our base, and a village where the housing runs from Kentish ragstone period property and listed buildings around the High Street to the modern estates at Larkfield. The older stock is the interesting part of the job: solid walls that stop wireless signal dead, and a conservation area where what you fix to a frontage matters.

Fifteen minutes from us and the closest large town. A genuine mix, from terraces near the centre to rural properties out towards the villages and commercial units on the industrial estates, which is why two Maidstone jobs a mile apart can need completely different systems.

Chatham and Gillingham are largely Victorian and Edwardian terraces, Rochester has a Georgian and Victorian historic centre, and Strood and the edges of all four towns carry newer estates. Terraced property changes the job: rear access is usually the vulnerable side and cable routes are limited.

A town with more commercial work in the mix than most, because the trading and industrial estates are still a big part of it long after the paper mill closed. The housing is largely recent and straightforward, with the older stock around Milton Regis needing more thought.

Splits cleanly between Victorian and Edwardian terraces near the town centre and riverside, and the newer estates out towards Ebbsfleet. On the terraces the rear access is the vulnerable side and the cable routes are limited; on the new build neither is true.

The London gateway end of Kent, with fast commuter links and a corresponding amount of property standing empty during the working day. Remote viewing and alerts to a phone matter more to people who are 40 minutes away when something happens.
