How much does it cost to install an intruder alarm?
It depends on the size of the property, how many entry points need covering, and whether you want a wired or wireless system. A two bedroom flat with a couple of sensors and a panel is a very different job to a five bedroom house with outbuildings and a garden gate. We survey before quoting rather than pricing over the phone, because the honest answer changes once we have walked round. The estimate is free and there is no obligation attached to it.
What grade of alarm does a house need?
Most domestic properties in Kent are Grade 2, which is what the majority of home insurers expect for a standard house. Grade 3 comes in where there is a higher risk or a specific insurer requirement, often on larger or more isolated properties. If your insurance policy names a grade, that is the one you need and we will fit to it. If it does not, we will tell you what is genuinely appropriate rather than selling you up a grade you have no use for.
Do you fit wireless alarms as well as wired?
Yes, both. Wired is more stable and needs less attention over the life of the system, so we fit it wherever the cable run is practical. Wireless goes in faster, causes far less disruption, and is the sensible choice in a period property or anywhere you cannot chase walls or lift floors. Wireless systems we fit are encrypted and supervised as standard, so the panel knows if a sensor stops reporting rather than quietly ignoring it.
Do you install access control and electric gates too?
Yes. Access control, door entry and gate automation are part of the same side of the business as the alarms, so one team surveys and fits the lot. That matters more than it sounds, because the alarm, the gate and the door entry usually want to share power and network runs. Doing them together means one set of cabling and one visit rather than paying twice for the same access work and then trying to make three systems talk to each other afterwards.
Which areas do you cover for alarm installation?
We are based in Aylesford, so Maidstone and the surrounding towns are our closest work. From there we cover Medway, Canterbury, Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks, Dartford and Bromley regularly, and we work more widely across Kent, the South East and into London. If you are not sure whether you are in range, ring and ask. We will tell you honestly rather than quoting for a job we would struggle to get back to for a service visit.
